Lighthorse Tactical, LLC is a training company focused on the legal application of tactics, techniques, and procedures. The proper application of these “TTP’s” is based on the user’s own daily world. What works for a SWAT Team on a hostage situation may not be applicable for a Citizen in a parking deck. Our training is based on relevance and realism.

25-28 Armed Security Officer Course

Registration required.The Armed Security Officer Program is a 2-day course that is conducted in accordance with the Alabama Security Regulatory Board (ASRB) guidelines. It contains a handgun block, a legal block and security operations and equipment block. The ASRB handgun qualification will also be conducted.
This course meets the requirements by the Alabama Security Regulatory Board to submit for an ASRB Armed Security Officer Certification.
Required Gear
Duty belt- holster, flashlight, magazine carriers- NO SHOULDER HOLSTERS, NO CROSS DRAW HOLSTERS
Duty sized handgun- NO SUBCOMPACTS
300 rounds handgun ammo
Eye and ear protection
Notebook and pen
Range clothing is required on both days (example- cargo pants and crew-neck shirt.

25-33 Pistol Optics 02 Class

25-33 Pistol Optics 02 Class

Pistol Optics 01 is not a pre-requisite.
Pistol Optics 02 is designed for intermediate shooters who use pistol optics.
This class will build on Pistol Optics 01 by reinforcing proper target acquisition, identifying challenges using the optic in less than ideal conditions, target transitions and working to shoot faster while maintaining accuracy.
Pistol Optics 2 will focus on speed and target transitions from less than ideal positions. The shooters will need to have the physical ability to kneel, squat, lay prone and recover. While not a physically demanding class, PO2 will be physically challenging. The shooters will be active and need to move to cover or fire from a less than ideal position using the pistol optic.
This is an intermediate class and each shooter needs to be comfortable handling their firearm safely and be comfortable shooting in a faster paced environment.
Items Needed for Class:
Handgun with a ZEROED Pistol Optic Sight mounted to the slide.
Outside the Waistband holster that secures the handgun to a belt.
300 rounds of pistol ammunition
Eye protection
Ear protection
Water/hydration
Spare batteries for the pistol optic.
Minimum of 3 pistol magazines.
Not necessary but optional:
Gloves
Knees pads
Long sleeve shirt to protect the elbows while shooting prone.We will break for lunch. You can pack a lunch or eat off-site.
OPTICS MUST BE ZEROED.

25-32 Basic Shotgun Class

The focus of Basic Shotgun is to establish a baseline of necessary skill sets for the shooter to effectively mount, present, aim and fire a shotgun. The firearms safety rules, fundamentals of marksmanship, weapon manipulation and maintenance will be presented and practiced. Students should be prepared for outdoor, moderate physical activities in seasonal weather conditions. Rain will hinder, but not stop the training, have rain gear.
Equipment Requirements
Shotguns need to be quality firearms; equipped with sights; bead, rifle style or a red dot. This class is designed for pump action or semi-auto shotguns.
Shotgun- 20 gauge or 12 gauge (other gauges, please check with us) in good mechanical condition.
Shell holders/Shell pouches- some type of shell carrier that can carry at a minimum of two to five shells, more is better. Weapon mounted shell holders are fine but a body worn shell carrier is also recommended.
Ammunition– factory loaded quality ammunition. 75 rounds of #6, #7 or #8 birdshot 40 rounds of 00 buckshot 20 rounds of slug ammo.
